Five of the longest kid-friendly movies

Working from home with a toddler has me thinking, “how long can I distract him at a time?” This led to me wondering what the longest kid-friendly movies are.

Since, working from home will be our new normal for the next little while, and kid-friendly movies will undoubtedly make up a large part of the ambient noise in our homes, there’s bonus points if they’re semi-enjoyable for the parent too.

I decided to split it across either live-action or animated options.

First-up, the best of the long live-action kid-friendly options:

        • The Sound Of Music – 172mins
        • Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets – 161mins
        • (Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire – 157mins)
        • (Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone – 152mins)
        • (Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban – 142mins)
        • (Harry Potter And The Order Of The Pheonix – 138mins)
        • The Lone Ranger – 149mins
        • Hook – 142mins
        • Aladdin – 128mins

And now for the long cartoon (sorry, animated) options:

        • The Incredibles 2 – 118mins
        • (The Incredibles – 115mins)
        • Cars – 117mins
        • Beowulf – 115mins
        • Ratatouille – 111mins
        • Moana – 107mins

So get your kid that magic kit and hope they love Harry Potter if you really wanna knuckle down and get some work done. Or hopefully there is enough spread in these options to keep the boss and workload at bay.

(If you ever run short, chuck on a series like The 10th Kingdom. That should keep little eyes occupied for at least some of the seven hour runtime.)
