Is there a heart-shaped hole in your business that needs to be filled? There doesn’t have to be, and damn it feels good when you fill it!
In May this year I was honoured with a board position with Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern NSW; a charity and service I have volunteered for in the past and truly believe do something amazing in holding families together at very difficult times. And a few weeks ago I was invited to attend a “Thank You Breakfast” for RMHC. I was treated very well in the lead-up and when I arrived at the restaurant I was completely flabbergasted by what was developing. What I didn’t know was they had a little surprise in-store. What happened was one of the most memorable and beautiful experiences I am very lucky to have had.
You’ll see the McHappy Day ads on TV, so make sure you smash a Big Mac that day (14th October 2017). But here’s what happened…
I could outline the benefits of corporate social responsibility and workplace giving, but FrontStream spell it out pretty good here. To me, it’s obvious, feels good, gives purpose, and is easy.
So, I challenge you. Does your business have a formal facility work workplace giving? Does it encourage it? Do you have a charity that means something to you or another member of your team? We are lucky sods, working these jobs, doing cool things and getting paid for generally loving what we do and doing what we are good at. But there are plenty who aren’t in that position, or need a little help for one reason or another (including our furry friends). So bring it to the table next meeting.
Monica Clare Recruitment employees are voluntarily involved in a workplace giving program that allows us to donate to Ronald McDonald House pre-tax, each pay cycle, direct through payroll. Easy! We also select a random charity each and every month to donate to based on the amount of placements we make with clients.
