With more than fifteen years of experience in the industry, Simon Rutten is no stranger to helping businesses and candidates find their perfect match.

Simon has joined Monica Clare Recruitment to provide a pivotal impact on our business as Recruitment Director. He will also share his extensive experience as our finance and executive/senior management recruitment specialist.

A close look at Simon’s career reveals that he has been connecting businesses and people throughout his entire professional life.

Simon’s career started in the media industry working between top brands, such as Chanel and Singapore Airlines, and the agency he represented. His experience working in account management  as the ‘middle-man’ led him to climb the recruitment industry ladder and find his way to us.

Over fifteen years, Simon has built an extensive network of executive and financial professionals and businesses looking to fill some of the high-level positions within their team. Over that time, Simon has mastered senior management recruitment, which requires a different approach to recruitment for other roles.

Simon said that job-for-lifers are becoming an endangered species, as millennials make the move towards more flexible work opportunities. However, professionals at an executive level are staying with their employers longer so they can leave their mark.

“It comes down to having the right networks and recruitment process in place to attract the ideal passive candidate across. That way we can fin the right fit the first time,” Simon said.

When Simon’s not in the Hamilton North office, you can probably find him jet-setting with his wife, Peta-Jayne who is a flight attendant; volunteering with the Marching Koala, which his daughter Lucy is part of; relaxing with his Labrador Rubi with a glass of red wine; or embracing the adrenaline rush from jumping out of a plane.

I think we’ll leave that hobby for Simon to enjoy on his own…
